“The Role of Catastrophe Reinsurance in a Wind Exposed Region” to be held April 28 in Tampa
Fort Lauderdale, FL – Top executives from Florida’ insurance industry will share their insights with leaders from reinsurance and ratings agencies, market and financial analysts, and other industry experts at the Florida Association for Insurance Reform’s (FAIR) inaugural conference in Tampa on April 28.
It’s a fact that the economies of Florida and other coastal states are impacted by higher property insurance rates because of hurricane risk. This applies to consumers, corporations, local businesses and vendors, affecting cash flow, margins and return on investment. High rates harm real estate values and negatively impact the ability of Florida’s workers to find affordable housing.
FAIR’s inaugural industry conference, The Role of Catastrophe Reinsurance in a Wind Exposed Region, will discuss these issues, and how they relate to reinsurance in markets heavily exposed to hurricane risk. It will also examine public policy options to create additional market stability and mitigate against future rate increases. The event’s platinum sponsors are Demotech Inc., Heritage Insurance and the Law Offices of Anidjar and Levine. Videography is being provided courtesy of A.M. Best Company.
A series of interactive panel discussions by policy makers, reinsurers, insurance companies, rating agencies, CEOs of public and private companies, market analysts and agents will discuss the critical role of reinsurance in managing risk. Knowledge of these issues is important for company planning both pre and post catastrophe.
FAIR is focused on wind mitigation improvements that increase safety, lower insurance and reinsurance rates, and increase community viability after a hurricane event. Its work is important to increasing the viability of the region’s economy.
